Scotland Expedition 2025 - Day 2
The Ring of Brodgar, with 36 stones where once maybe 60 stood, I read on the sign. I felt welcome to this place. Almost an air of eagerness for my arrival was noticeable.
Ring of Brodgar, Orkney Islands, Scotland
The journey on the boat took a bit of my toll, with high waves and nausea creeping in after an hour. I almost doubting driving straight to the stone circles. So I told myself to just have a look and see. Of course, who was I fooling? After arriving at the site and reading a bit on the information boards, I decided to move closer and already I felt the energy opening.
I placed myself at a distance and started praying and invoking the energies like I do for opening sacred space, this time in myself. Calling in the pure energies from the cosmos and the earth to cleanse and enrich my field, lifting up my frequency. A common practice before I enter a sacred place, ceremony or practice.
As I walked closer to the circle I allowed myself to be guided where I needed to go. There was a henge around the stones and 2 paths, one on the outside of the henge and an inner circled path bringing you close to the standing stones. I just followed my feet and started walking counterclockwise on the outer circular path, while information started flowing in. I saw the image of an archivist, one I know from our time with the temples in Sardinia. During that expedition and temple visit, two templekeepers saw the image of an old man writing down the knowledge and practices of the place in one of the temples we visited. Almost as an archetype of that tower, the place of archiving their information.
Here I saw that image again and I was told I am here to catalog and archive the information about the stones. I was mentally shocked, because there are 36 standing stones and my experience with the 7 temples in Sardinia is that it often take days to track their energy. And yet I felt honoured, to study these mysterious stones and track their origins and purpose.
I kept walking the circle until a chirping took me out of my meditative state. There was a small bird up in the air, about 20 meters up, chirping and singing beautifully. The sounds enveloped me and the frequencies did something to the air and to the place. I closed my eyes and allowed the sound waves to enter my body.
I felt called to sit down and meditate. I sat at the southern part of the ring and searched for information about this place. I saw a woman in white dancing with in her hands an orb of light. She was holding it adoringly, dancing around it while holding it in place, keeping her eyes on it keenly and almost romantically. I saw the stones circling up around this orb, it now being at the centre of the circle. People lined up, each connected to one of the stones. Paths and lines ran from each stone to the centre and I felt how energy was being sent to the centre.
More information came to me, that I still need to give space to and doublecheck before sharing it. I started my walk in the inner ring, taking pictures of all the stones and tracking their energy. I made a small start and tomorrow I will continue.
An arduous task, not just for the amount of tracking, but Orkney has the same latitude as Alaska and Stavanger. It is cold, extremely windy and the ferry trip left me tired. Yet, while walking back to the car, I also noticed how light I felt. A peculiar feeling of being physically tired and cold and at the same time not heavy.
